Results show that the pollen morphology in this genus is highly unanimous. The pollen grains are sub-spherical or prolat with 3 colpora,3 lobate circular in polar view. By the ornamentation, the pollen grains of the genus can be divided into 4 types,fovedate,granules,reticulate-granules and reticulate. Some interspecific differences exist in exine ornamentation, colpus width, spinulate size, distribution density and pollen size. Based on cluster analysis, the pollen morphology of this genus could be divided into five groups belonging to subgen.Eriocoryne,subgen.Amphilaena,subgen.Theodorea and subgen.Saussurea respectively.

Nucleus fluorescent staining and whole clearing technique was first used in this study to observe the process of the double fertilization in rice by using Laser Scanning Confocal Microscopy(LSCM). LSCM is a powerful tool in studying the structure of tissues and cells because of the function of“CT Scanning”. When the sample, which was stained with nucleus fluorescent and cleared with whole clearing technique, was excited by 488 nm laser, the nucleus and nucleolus of the cells in it excited bright fluorescent color and the profile of the nucleus was very clear. And the LSCM image showed perfectly the structure and special position of the cells in the embryo sac. Not only the images of small embryo sacs before fertilization, but also the images of big embryo sacs during and after fertilization were perfect. The results suggested that the LSCM was an ideal tool to study the process of double fertilization compared to traditional photics microscope.

In 2003 and 2004,the author and companions made three bryophytic surveies in this region, and about 500 specimens of bryophytes were collected there. From all these specimens,36 families,78 generas and 204 species(including 8 subspecies,4 varieties and 1 form)are identified, including 5 newly recorded species in Guizhou. According to“The areal-types of Chinese genera of seed plants”by Wu Zheng-yi,13 type of the bryoflora in this region are recognized. Tropical elements is the most important ones. For considering the relationships between the mossflora of low mountain valley monsoon forest and other mountains, the author selected nine regions. Comparing the similarity coefficient of moss genera and species between this region and other mountains, this region is very close to the Mt.Maolan. While the similarity coefficient between this region and Mt.Changbai is the lowest,so the relation between them is very far.

The flora of Pamirs consist of 963 species of seed plants belonging to 59 families and 303 genera. Based on the analysis of the floristic elements at family, genera and species level, there are some conclusions as follows:The floristic elements of the Pamirs of China are complex. Almost all kinds of distribution types are more or less represented here. Among the genera distribution patterns, the floristic elements with 83.8% temperate genera and 4.3% tropical ones reveal dominant temperate property. And in the species distribution patterns, the flostric element with 75.1% temperate species and 1.8% tropical ones indicate that the flora is temperate in nature flora. From the level of families and genera, predominant families are minor-genera family and one-genera family. There are only three numerous-genera family which is more than 20 genera, but the number of genera and species auounts for 35.9% and 38.6% respectively to the total,so phenomenon of the flora is obviously; single-species or minor-species genera is more, the ratio of genera and species is high,so composition of floristic is complex.

The effects of gap size and dwarf bamboo coverage on the regeneration of subalpine dark coniferous forest were examined in Wolong Giant Panda Nature Reserve,Sichuang Province. The gaps(≤50 m2,50-150 m2 and>150 m2)were selected, there are 3 dwarf bamboo coverage(20%,20%-50% and>50%)in each gap area type, and three contrasting understory bamboo cover conditions(≤20%,20%-50% and>50%)were contained in the same sized gaps,as well. The results showed that:(1)no matter what gap area, the number of tree seedlings in gaps was more than that in understory, gap regeneration is the primary approach of the community regeneration of Abies faxoniana;(2)the gaps which we selected were all at early phase,so the specific composition and quantity of seedlings among every gap are obviously different. The seedlings and saplings abundance of Betula utilis increased with gap enlarged, and this demonstrated that it needed larger gaps to regenerate than Abies faxoniana;(3)there were significant differences in number of seedlings among the gaps with different bamboo coverage, and dense bamboo evidently impeded the forest regeneration process;(4)with the increasing of gap size, the degree of dispersion of Fargesia nitida decreased, and average height and basal diameter tended to increase.

Species richness index gradually increased from non-gap to the gap center area, such that:Non-gap<Gap border<Near gap center<Gap center; Species diversity index change pattern was high in the center and low on edges. The change of evenness index coincided with species diversity index. The degree of species diversity change in gap gradients was affected heavily by gap phase and gap size, the degree of change was:Early phase gap>Middle phase gap>Late phase gap and Large size gap>Middle size gap>Small size gap. The results show that 106 vascular plant species belong to 46 families and 75 genera in a sampling area of 2 500 m2. The dominant families of community are Rosaceae,Ericaceae,Fagaceae,Lauraceae,Aquifoliaceae and Theaceae, etc. The dominant species of the community are Rhododendron simiarum,Pinus kwangtungensis,Schima remotiserrata,Ilex lohfauensis,Dendropanax chevalieri,Podocarpus brevifolius,Olea dioica,Tsuga techekiangensis and Pentaphylax euryoides, etc. The species indexes of Simpson and Shannon-Wiener in the community are 0.941 and 4.977,respectively. Most of the floristic elements of family for seed plants are Pan-tropical and North Temperate distributing type, and main genera are Pan-Tropical and tropical-Asia areal-types,which show the characteristic of transition of south subtropical and mid-subtropical elements.
Pinus taiwanensis is a common species, and it is one of the dominant species in subtropical area. The intraspecific and interspecific competitions of P.taiwanensis were analyzed quantitatively by using the improved competition index. The results show that with the increase of the size of objective tree and the distance between plants, the intraspecific competition intensity decreases, because of the population density regulation during self-thinning. In the community, there are many other species, but their diameter at breast height is less than that of P.taiwanensis,as a result, the competition intensity of intraspecific was more excessive than that of interspecific. The order of competition intensity is P.taiwanensis—P.taiwanensis>Cunninghamia lanceolata—P.taiwanensis>Quercus glandulifera—P.taiwanensis>other species—P.taiwanensis. The relation between competition intensity and individual growth of objective tree follows closely the following equation CI=AD-B,and the changing of competition intensity is very small when the diameter of the objective tree grows to 20 cm. The model can simulate and predict the intraspecific and interspecific competition efficiently. The study provides a new approach to measure the competition intensity and to ascertain the neighborhood zone on studying the plant competition.

They can overwinter safely in Huaihua city so long as the temperature below zero in winter which never last 1 week or more. Hence, these ferns are worth exploiting in subtropical zone;(d)nine ferns(Osmunda vachellii,Alsophila metteniana,Athyrium otophorum,Athyrium iseanum,Athyrium caudiforme,Ctenitopsis sinii,Dryopteris uniformis,Polystichum dielsii,Cyrtomium balansae)yield sporangium as soon as they expand leaf;(e)the sporangium of most of the ferns becomes ripe after 30-40 days'development;(f)the periods of foliage leaf germination and expansion will be postponed half a month also if they are introduced and cultivated after germinating. But the appearance time and ripeness time of sorus remains changeless;(g)the sorusperiods of different species are different. Nevertheless, they are relative stable in the same species and therefore can be used as one of the evidences of differentiation.
By sand cultural method, the experiment was conducted to investigate growth response and threshold concentration of Agrostis stolonifera to Cu2+,Zn2+,Cd2+ or Pb2+ stress. It was found that rate of seed germination decreased with increasing supply of Cu2+,Zn2+,Cd2+ or Pb2+. Heavy metal supply at concentration ≤100 mg/L increased plant height of A.stolonifera, whereas Cu2+,Zn2+,Cd2+or Pb2+supply higher than 100 mg/L decreased plant height. Cu2+ inhibited root growth significantly, and root length decreased with increasing Cu2+ supply. Compared with the control, root length of A.stolonifera was lowered by 93.75% at Cu2+ concentration of 600 mg/L. Aboveground biomass increased at Cu2+,Zn2+ or Pb2+ concentration ≤200 mg/L,but decreased with increasing concentrations when their concentrations were higher than 200 mg/L. Chlorophyll content increased at Cu2+,Zn2+ concentration ≤100 mg/L or Cd2+,Pb2+ concentration ≤200 mg/L,but tended to decrease at Cu2+,Zn2+ concentration ≥100 mg/L or Cd2+,Pb2+ concentration ≥200 mg/L. Only Cd2+ significantly lowered chlorophyll content of A.stolonifera by 43.55% at concentration of 600 mg/L. Synthetical effect of heavy metal on A.stolonifera growth indicated that A.stolonifera was most sensitive to Cu2+ stress with low threshold, but the effect of Zn2+ stress on A.stolonifera growth was the least.

Comprehensive protein extraction from Cryphonectria parasitica is a key step to achieve high quality protein separation in two dimensional electrophoresis(2-DE). Two routine cellular total protein extraction methods were compared in order to determine an optimal one for filamentous fungi. Then the extracted total proteins were subjected to 2-DE,and the better extraction method was determined by the indexes of protein distribution and abundance on corresponding silver-stained gel. Data showed that most proteins were distributed in the pH ranging from 4 to 7; Buffer-TCA-Acetone got much more whole protein, which was treated with cleanup kit could be separated very well by 2-DE.But TCA-Acetone method precipitated total protein which is less although which shows fine differentiation among protein spots. So we consider that Buffer-TCA-Acetone is appropriate protocol for C.parasitica. Several silver -stained protein spots were picked for MALDI-TOF MS/MS to identify and high-quality PMF and MS/MS spectras were obtained.
Large-scale culture of Taxus cell is considered to be one of the most promising alternative methods to produce taxol. Heavy producing cell line can cut down the cost of taxol production and promote the process of industrialization. Compared with diploid, multiploid medicinal plant has the characteristics of giantism, which express in roots, stems, leaves, flowers and fruits, strong antireversion force and high contents of secondary metabolites. This research established tetraploid T.chinensis cell line by the methods of synchronization culture and inducing treatment of colchicine. Through 7 cycles subcultures, stability was demonstrated. Results showed that treating the T.chinensis cells with 750 mg/L colchicine could get stable tetraploid cell line whose tetraploid cell rate maintained in 62.5%.
Maximum likelihood,Bayesian inference,Neighbor Joining and Hierarchical likelihood ratio tests were employed to study the phylogeny of Alismatales. 52 rbcL sequences were used in the analysis to represent 14 families 46 genera, and 6 related genera as outgroup. Hierarchical likelihood ratio tests showed that GTR+I+G could be the best evolutionary model for rbcL dataset, and the topology of maximum likelihood tree was similar to those of Bayesian tree and Neighbor Joining tree, but Bayesian tree giving higher support values; Alismatales could be composed of two major clades and further divided into five clades. The phylogenetic relationship of “families of Alismatales”,“Hydrocharitaceae + Najadaceae”,“Alismataceae + Butomataceae + Limnocharitaceae”,and “Cymodoeaceae complex” were discussed based on the molecular phylogenetic trees. The stem tip protomeristem of six sugarcane cuctivars at four different developing stages was investigated using microstructural and ultrastructural techniques. The results showed that sugarcane stem tip protomeristem had four zones:tunica-primary cell zone,corpus-primary cell zone, peripheral meristem zone and pith zone. The tunica-primary cell zone had only one layer of tunica cells and many of plasmodesmus crossed between the tunica-primary cells, but few plasmodesmus crossed between the tunica-primary cells and the corpus-primary cells. Most of tunica-primary cell were anticlinal division in order to enlarge protomeristem superficial area. The corpus zone located in the central region of the meristem below the tunica, where the cell divisions were in all directions to increase both the width and length of the apex. The corpus-primary cell zone appeared to be a sphere. The peripheral meristem zone located the two sides under the tunica-primary and the corpus, which cells were very active and generate phyllopodium and protocambium cells. The pith zone was at the inner side of peripheral meristem under the corpus, and the cell division was transverse and end-to-end arrangement to elongate the stem.

In order to analyze the 20 common species interspecific association, researchers took some analysis methods, including multi-species complex associated index(VR),χ2-test; Relevance measure, the Pearson correlation coefficient,as well as the Spearman rank correlation coefficient. The results were as follows:(1)Multi-species relevance(VR)analysis showed that the association between the main components members in Armandii communities was positively correlated, this demonstrated the natures of Armandii communities and the characteristics of their living environment were adaptable;(2)In pairs of the 20 common species, the pairs of Armandii-Quercus alioena,Armandii-Quercus variabilis,Armandii-Quercus liaotungensis etc.were positively correlated; Quercus alioena-Quercus variabilis,Quercus alioena-Rhus chinensis etc.were negatively correlated; but the independence of Smilax scobinicaulis,Cerasus polytricha etc.demonstrated the different nature of communities, that was a performance of the difference of environment within community, and was cased by environmental heterogeneity within Armandii communities.(3)Armandii communities based on the different nature of the relationship between the compositions of communities in 20 common species were grouped into three ecological species groups, they are positively correlated group, the negative association group and independent group.(4)The results of the study on interspecific association had a certain practical guide of Armandii community habitat monitoring, forest management, and recycling of forest roads in the landscape species selection and configuration.

Some species usually cover wide regions with different circumstances,so it was expected that the species would demonstrate various phenotypes due to different selection pressures. In this study, the phenologcial differences of 2 tropical species,e.g.,Samanea saman and Glirdia sepium planted in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden were explored. Each species has individuals form two or three different continents and shared a same phenological observation period. Although all the plant individuals showed similar phenological pattern, there were still obvious differentiation in phenology among different populations. The synchronous index of phenology for the two species was low,and the flushing commencement dates were significantly different among the populations. Relationship analysis showed that the differentiation in phenology was related to climatic variables, especially those in the dry season. The results suggested that the different climate characters in primary habitats have resulted in phenological variation in the two species, which would influence their response to climate change in the future.

The results showed that the treatments could decrease the content of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,total chlorophyll, potential activity of PSII(Fv/Fo),photochemical quenching(qP)and non-photochemical quenching(qN),light quantum yield of PSII(ΦPSⅡ),efficiency of primary conversion of light energy(Fv/Fm)on thylakoid membrane, and the activity of Hill reaction, whereas, the treatments could increase chl/car,and the content of MDA. The damage of spinach leaves caused by UV-B was relieved by CaCl2.With different treatments the change of the activity of SOD,POD,CAT was compensatory effect. The relationship between the UV-B intensity and the damaged degree of PSII function of spinach leaves was positive correlation. It appeared that the most primary action by CaCl2 radiation occured at the chlb content in total photosyntheic pigments, the light quantum yield and the activity of POD.Under the high UV-B stress,CaCl2 caused the chlorophyll b increase, which was the most important reason that efficiency of PSII capture light could raise.

Antagonistic bacteria to P.parasitica var.nicotianae were screened out according to their antagonistic action and anti-disease in vitro and field experiment. The well antagonistic effect strains were identified by combining the results of morphological observation, physiological and biochemical characteristics analyse, and 16S rDNA sequence test. And pilot study of the mechanism of anti-disease of P.parasitica var.nicotianae was carried out at the same time. Results showed that a total of 340 strains of bacteria were isolated from 8 samples of soil. And three strians with well antagonistic effect which marked as 8-23,6-70,and 13 were screened out. They were the bacteria belonged to Bacillus,Lysobacter, and Pseudomonas respectively. The mechanism of the three strains against P.parasitica var.nicotianae was to excrete some protein enzymes or other substance which could dissolve the cell wall or membrane of pathogeny and killed them finally. The active substance of strain 8-23 and 13 were mainly protein. But for the strain 6-70,there were some other factors to work besides the protein compounds.

In order to know the basic biology characteristics and its feeding value of Vigna minina,a comparative study with V. angularis and V. radiata were carried out, especially the V. minina's wild growth situation, germination rate, traits of germination, traits of anti-intimidating and the methods of breaking its dormancy and so on were all studied in laboratory. At the same time, the nutrient ingredients of V. minina's seed and young seedling were measured. The results were as follows:V. minina's vitality was very strong in wild, growth periods was long, more pods were produced,if its seedling came out later, the moment of procreation was earlier. Under the experimental conditions,V. minina's germination rate was very low without order; in the period of germination,V. minina put up the ability of enduring the feebleness acid and was fond of the stimulation of low salinity; using 98% oil of vitriol to manage the seed of V. minina 30 min and using knife to lacerate the seed capsule were the best method to break its dormancy. The V. minina's coarse fat and solubility sugar were more than that of V. angularis and V. radiata, but its coarse protein was a bit low. In young seedling, solubility sugar in V. minina was the most, solubility protein in V. minina was more than V. radiata, lower than V. angularis, the dissociative amino acid in V. minina was the lowest.Comparing with the general feedstuff, like corn, barley, ryegrass and alfalfa, the V. minina had more evidence predominance. And the fouled degrees on four saltmarsh species were all significantly less than that on A. marina tree. The mix-culturing of saltmarsh CM or ZM with mangrove tree AM could efficiently reduce the fouling damage, resulting in better tree growth indexes i.e. tree height, leaf number, branch number, branch conservation and survival rate than those in mono-species treatment areas.
This present study investigated airborne trace heavy metals of V,Cr,Mn,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,As,Cd and Pb in Shenzhen by using moss-bag technique plus ICP-AES analysis. Seventeen sites across four administrative regions, including Yantian,Luohu,Futian and Nanshan were selected for placing moss bags. The sesults showed that the trace heavy metals varied in these four districts. The pollution of Nanshan was less serious than that of the other three districts. The main reasons were probably related to the land and water traffic conditions, industrial development, population density and geographic location. Cluster analysis of heavy metal concentration contents showed in all monitored sites, the most polluted ones were of industrial and traffic heavy areas, and relative mild polluted were far from industry and highways to some extent. The above showed that the industry and highways played a crucial role in atmospheric pollution. The government must do more to alleviate the atmospheric heavy metal pollution in Shenzhen.

Using cuttings of annual lignified branches of Rhododendron latoucheae as the material and using sand and soil(3:1,V/V)as the substrate, the effects of hormone types and concentrations and their combinations on 7 rooting traits and 5 above ground growth traits of R. latoucheae cutting propagation were studied, adopting a completely randomized design(CRD)with two factor of 5 hormone types and 4 concentration levels. And on this basis, the effects of different treatments combinations on cutting propagation were comprehensively evaluated by principal component analysis. The results showed that:Two main factors had significant influences on most cutting propagation traits, and hormone types had greater effect than concentration levels. Among 5 hormone types,GA3 had the best effect on callusing rate, rotting rate, rooting rate, retention rate of old leaf, retention no of old leaf, and new shoot rate. And IBA had the best effect on number of adventitious root, length of longest adventitious root, number of total roots, diameter of root system, number of new shoot, and length of new shoot. Both of GA3 and IBA were ideal hormones for R. latoucheae cutting propagation, followed by IAA,NAA and 6-BA had worse effect on propagation traits which should not be used for R. latoucheae cutting propagation. Among 4 concentration levels, low concentration(B1)had the best effect for callusing rate, rotting rate and retention rate of old leaf,as the concentration became higher,it was less effective. Middle concentration(B3)had the best effect for the other 9 propagation traits, and these traits decreased when treated with high concentration(B4). The interaction effect of hormone types and concentrations had very significant influence on number of total roots, and it had significant influence on callusing rate and diameter of root system, and the best concentration level depended on hormone type. The results of comprehensive evaluation using principal component analysis showed that 50 mg·L-1 GA3 was the best treatment combination, followed by 200 mg·L-1 IBA and 100 mg·

In order to elucidate the regulatory role of these genes,we used Realtime-PCR to investigate expression profiles of five OsWRKY transcription factors(OsWRKY7,OsWRKY11,OsWRKY30,OsWRKY70 and OsWRKY89)under abiotic stresses and pathogen challenges. The expression characteristics of hormone treatments were also investigated in order to study which hormone way they were functioning through. All five OsWRKY could be induced by pathogen inoculation and all these genes had different rate inductions under abiotic stress. In each hormone treatment, some were induced, others were suppressed, and still others unaffected. Five OsWRKY genes were all likely to be involved in the infection process of rice blast stress. OsWRKY7 and OsWRKY70 might participate in the resistance to rice blast by JA and SA in a mutually antagonistical manner; OsWRKY89 also might be involved in it,but not through the four hormone ways studied in this research. In the aspect of abiotic stress,OsWRKY7 might participate in drought, high salt and extreme temperature stresses through the ABA way; OsWRKY11 had the possibility to be involved in high salt stress; OsWRKY30 was possible to participate in high salt and hot stresses; OsWRKY70 might be involved in high salt, drought and extreme temperature stresses; OsWRKY89 might be involved in hot stress, but not through the four hormone ways studied in this research.OsWRKY transcription factors have vital function in respond to adverse environment and pathogens in rice. A 2 171 bp upstream sequence of the translation start codon ATG of OsGSTLc gene was isolated from the genomic DNA of rice, which contained a putative CAAT-box at position -86 bp upstream of ATG,but there wasn’t TATA-box between the CAAT-box and ATG. Therefore,OsGSTLc promoter was a TATA-less promoter. To define the core promoter sequence,a series of 5’ truncation derivatives of GST2171 were fused to a GUS reporter gene to construct GSTL2171::GUS,GSTL1761::GUS,GSTL962::GUS and GSTL525::GUS,respectively.
The paper systematically summarized the tendency of climate change and its potential effects on alpine grassland of Tibetan Plateau nearly past 50 years. The data showed that the magnitude of temperature increase on the Tibetan plateau was significantly greater than the average level of China even the world. Although the annual total precipitation tended to increase, the spatial and temporal variations were high from Southern to Northern and from Western to Eastern of the plateau. The climate changes significantly affected the alpine grassland of the Tibetan Plateau. The results from observations and simulations indicated that:(1)The climate zones and vegetation zones of Tibet Plateau could move to northward and westward, whereas the variation tendency of different vegetation areas depended on the different scenarios simulated by different models;(2)Rising temperatures advanced green-up and delayed yellow period from observations which prolonged growing seasons, but remote sensing data showed opposite results since the end of 1990s;(3)Species richness decreased and species composition changed;(4)the vegetation coverage and NPP enhanced from simulated scenarios, but opposite results were found from OTC experiments in the region;(5)Although prolong growing season may improve plant production, the risk of natural disasters could also increase for forages and crops;(6)The future climate change may has a little effect on soil carbon source/sink through simulated different scenarios. Based on the review,we found that generally there were inconsistent results about the climate change and its potential effects on alpine grassland so far on the Tibetan plateau. Therefore,it is necessary for us to research how observed temperature increase to affect structures and functions of the alpine system, and how to bring the generated changes into global change models or evaluation systems,in order to accurately evaluate the long-term effects of climate change in the region. The paper systematically summarized the tendency of climate change and its potential effects on alpine grassland of Tibetan Plateau nearly past 50 years.
