It became a“forest killer”and caught much attention. Taxonomic revision was made based on basionym, synonym, literature survey, type and relative specimen observations. Inaccurate or error determinations were corrected. M.boisiana(Gagnep.)van Ooststr.var.fulvopilosa(Gagnep.)van Ooststr.occurred only in Guangxi of China, and that formerly reported occurrence in Yunnan Province was actually Merremia bimbim(Gagnep.)van Ooststr.,and M.biosiana var.sumatrana van Ooststr.was a synonym of the former. The results are as follows:(1)These blades of four species have many identically structural adaptations:epidermis cells have thick cuticle. The type of stomata is anisocytic one, stomata are at the same level as epidermis cells, sometimes even lower. There are glands which consist of several cells in upper and lower epidermis; flourishing palisade tissue, most of them are equilateral; existing mucilage cells and tannin idioblasts; have less vascular tissue and mechanical tissue.(2)Different plants have different adaptional features. There are differences in the shape, the form of radical wall and the area of epidermis cell as well as stomata frequency, the salt gland frequency, the thickness of blade and that of palisade. Leaves of halophytes have differently structural characteristics compared with those of xerophytes.

The results were as follows:The leaves of studied Begonia species possessed typical characters of shady plant leaves with thin leaves, cross section to be bifacial leaves, differentiation of the palisade tissue and spongy tissue but the palisade tissue to be not flourishing to make up less proportion of the mesophyll tissue. Most epidermis was single. The epidermal hairs composed of multiplayer cells. The stomata were distributed mainly over lower epidermis and stomatic nest was big and the ventilating tissue was utmost flourishing. The keratinous form of epidermal cell was varied(even incrassate, tubercular, lamellar, and so on). The elliptical and spherical chloroplast was distributed mainly over palisade tissue in the mesophyll tissue. The characters of the anatomic leaf constitutions of thirty species showed incomplete unanimity between sections of Begonia but showed complete unanimity among the same stem types in different species; The characters of tissue of leaf cross section were horny layer more thin, less proportion of palisade tissue to mesophlly tissue on the rhizomatous and erect stemmed Begonia, which plants adapted to a weak light and hygrophytic environment, but it was horny layer more thick, big proportion of palisade tissue to mesophlly tissue on the corm Begonia, which plants adapted to a strong light and a little xerophytic environment.

The authors focus on such environment which is uniform in some way,to discuss the relationships between the morphological variation and environment. The morphological variation of Cyclobalanopsis glauca seeds in Dajinshan Island, located at the eastern edge of distribution in mainland China, was studied. Means of length, diameter and weight of seeds collected from 41 C.glauca trees were 1.557±0.128 cm,1.175±0.112 cm and 1.321±0.310 g,respectively. Normal distribution of seeds was observed in length and diameter, but not in weight. No distinct difference was found among seeds collected from different slope aspects, due to relative homogenous habitats. Gini coefficient showed that about half of the variation was partitioned within individual tree, indicating that microhabitats within individual tree might had a modification effect on the morphological characteristics of C.glauca seeds.

The results were showed that the leaves of studied Pyrrosia possessed typical characters of dry plant leaves，cross section to be bifacial leaves. Most leaves were multiple epidermal cells and have thick cuticle. Epidermal hairs were stellate hair and composed of many cells. The stomatas were distributed mainly over lower epidermis and its type was annular cell type. Stomata were sometimes even sunken. The spores were monolete，bilateally symmetric，elliptic in polar view and kidney shaped or semirounded in equator view. The spore morphological characters were tuberculate. Some characters of the leaf epidermis of 7 species of Pyrrosia，such as shape of epidermis cell，epidermal hair，pattern of anticlinal walls and stomatal density，etc. showed more or less difference among the species. These characters could provide experimental evidences for the division of species of Pyrrosia.

The ecophysiological effect of summer flooding on vegetative propagules of C.dactylon was uncovered through control experiments and its photosynthesis and other related physiological parameters were determined. Results showed that vegetative propagules of C.dactylon fell into dormancy during summer when stressed by summer flooding. Flooding duration had a significant effect on transpiration and leaf temperature of the recovering vegetative propagules meanwhile flooding depth significantly affected its photosynthesis，stomatal conductance，intercellular CO2 concentration and leaf temperature. Simulated summer flooding also resulted in the significant change in photosynthetic pigment content. The photosynthetic pigment content of flooded vegetative propagules was higher than that of controls，so was the fully submerged plants than the half submerged plants. The ratio of Chla to Chlb also increased with the increase of flooding depth. It indicated that vegetative propagule of C.dactylon had a good ability to recover growth and physiological activity and was a good species that could be used in the ecological restoration of hydrofluctuation belt in hydropower projects.

Kosteletzkya virginica has a pistil with five stigma lobes. If unpollinated，individual stigma lobes downward curve to bring them contact with a flower’s own anthers，possibly resulting in delayed selfing，which might provide reproductive assurance when pollinators are scarce. It was observed，but not experimentally tested，that each of the five lobes within flowers acts independently. Here，we quantitatively tested the effects of pollen loads and seed set on the curvature of unpollinated lobes within flowers，pollenovule ratio and stigma receptivity and pollen viability. Results showed that the curvature of unpollinated lobes within flowers did not appear to be a response to the amount of pollen grains deposited on the adjacent stigmas and seed set，depending on if each received pollen. The value of pollenovule ratio indicated that mating system belonged to facultative xenogamy. When unpollinated stigmas were in contacting with its own anthers via style movements，high stigma receptivity and pollen viability provided a possible for resulting in delayed selfing. Multiple floral traits including independent curvature of stigma lobes harmoniously exhibit a mixed mating system within flowers. Our data provided the first empirical demonstration that the curvature of the five stigma lobes within flowers regulates independently，which provides incentive for testing at the flower level the reproductive assurance widely accepted explanation for the evolution of selfing.

The main results can be concluded as follows:Anthers are tetrasporangiate. The development of anther walls conforms to the Dicotyledonous type and comprises of epidermis，endothecium，one or two middle layers and tapetum at the mature stage. The tapetal cells have dual origin and belong to the glandular type. The tapetal cells on the connective side show radial elongation or periclinal division and intrude into the anther locule to form placenoids；The endothecium persists and its cells become pillar and fibrous，and the epidermis degenerates. Cytokinesis at meiosis of microsporocytes is of the simultaneous type and most of microspore tetrads are tetrahedral，there are still a few other types，such as dilateral. Pollen grain is mainly 2celled type when shed，occasionally 3celled type，and has three apertures.

Morphological and developing characteristics of dormant buds of Magnolia grandiflora were observed with anatomical methods. The results are as follows:most of the young leaves are erecting，while a few are spiraling； leaf blades are all conduplicate longitudinally along its middle veil with the lateral edges inwards，and among the buds of a single tree and the different trees stochastically to the right or left；the outer 1-3 layer leaves in a leaf bud and all ones in a flower bud are mostly dead；the petioles of the inmost layer young leaves in flower buds，are adnate to its stipules，with their blades in most cases degenerated away and occasionally developing into normal and smaller ones. It’s considered that death of young leaves in the buds is physiologically degenerated for adaption，not caused by diseases or innutrition，which might have relevance to the substitution of stipules for young leaves as bud scales performing protectio in evolution.

Morphological and anatomical microexamination of the embryo development of the seeds of Dendrobium crepidatum，Den. heterocarpum，Den.caillipes and Den.aphyllum were studied. The results showed that the embryo consisted of relatively undifferentiated cells at globular stage. Protocorms were formed after embryo swelling breaking through the seed coat，forming absorbing hairs and initiating shoot apex from the surface. After the seeds germinated，the embryos remained immature and stayed at heartshaped embryo stage. The two ends of the spindly seed were different，one was oblique and subacute，the other was oval. The seed volume and germination time were different in species，and the spindly seed of Den.crepidatum was the longest with sharper points，and the seed mainly broke through the seed coat from the midst of the seed coat. Den.aphyllum seed was the shortest in length with two dullish spindly ends，and the seed germination needed the least 30 d which was much longer than the 5-10 d of other 3 species. In general，after full water absorption，the seed showed swelled，and the embryo seemed to come out from one end or broke through the midst of the seed coat surface，being a naked embryo. The bud growing point sprouted from the upper of the bare embryo，and many absorbing hairs grew out at the base after swelling，turning green and germinating，and protocorm formed at last.

In order to understand the reproductive biology of Hypericum perforatum，the floral biology and breeding system were investigated in the present manuscript by means of the field observations on the flowering duration，pollen viability，outcrossing index and pollenovule ratio. The results showed that H.perforatum was protogynous，the female organ mature before male organ and there was no obvious herkogamy. A single flower lasted for 4 days. Pollinators visited only at the first day of flowers blooming and bees were the main pollinator. The pollen viability reached the highest one hour later after the anther splited(the viability of pollen was about 40.10%)，and pollen tube approached ovary three hours later. The outcrossing index(OCI)was 3 or 4. According to criteria proposed by Dafni，H.perforatum was determined as outcrossing，partially selfcompatible，sometimes demanding for pollinators. The pollenovule ratio(P/O)was approximately 591.5. H.perforatum was concurrently xenogamied by Cruden’s criterion. Possible reasons that relative reproductive success(RRS)rate of the species was only 7.88% may be lower pollen viability，the growth speed of pollen tube and competition of the pollen grains on stigmas.

Camellia japonica is an important horticultural species，widely distributed in EastAsia. 5 populations of C.japonica collected from China and Japan were analyzed by ISSR markers to detect the genetic diversity. A total of 205 discernible loci were obtained from all populations using 20 primers. Of these loci，89.27% were polymorphic(PPB=89.27%). The average percentage of polymorphic loci(PPB=72.00%)，Nei’s gene diversity(HE=02743)and Shannon’s Information Index(H=0.4023)，estimated by POPGENE，indicated that C.japonica had higher level genetic diversity than many other insular plant species. The coefficient gene differentiation(Gst)was 02033，which showed more variation were from the individuals of the populations. According to Mantel Test（r=07989，P＜0.05）and UPGMA，insular geographical isolation have an important influence on genetic structure. In order to maintain genetic diversity and resource utilization of C.japonica that natural population should be protected in situ from human disturbance to facilitate its natural generation.

Erythronium sibiricum is an ephemeroid in Xinjiang Altai，distributing in alpine grassland under Larix sibirica Ledeb. forest with shadow habitat. In the present paper，anatomy and its ecological adaptation of E.sibiricum was studied. The results showed that there was significant parenchyma in subterranean scale leaf，which provided sufficient location of water and nutriment for E.sibiricum during its above 10month dormancy every year；stem (scape) of E.sibiricum consisted of epidermis，ground tissue and sparsate closed vascular bundles. There was a thick layer of cuticle on the epidermis of stem，which could save inside water from evaporation，lots of vasculars were able to ensure water absorption from cold soil and nutrients allocation to shoot efficiently. There was significant phloem fiber in every bundle that played a very important role in bearing large flower or fruit on the top of the stem；leaf was large and thin with little cuticle on the epidermis，which could not only lessen sunlight reflection，but also enlarged photosynthetic surface. Besides spongy tissue，there was another kind of special mesophyll tissue “semipalisade tissue” in asssimilating tissue constituted with layers of elongate cells，whose macroaxis was paralle with the leaf epidermis，and it means a significantly enlarged photosynthetic tissue area，suggesting an adaptation to the shadow habitat of E.sibiricum under the forest where the sunlight was not sufficient；there were densy veins inside of the parianth，which acted as a keystone role in sustaining enough water supply，sustaining cell normal turgor pressure，sustaining optimal spatial showing pattern of parianth，and in improving pollination efficiency，ensuring reproductive success. It was also the result of the longperiod adaptation of the plant to its shadow forest habitat，where the pollinators were not reliable；axile placentation with much ovules in each locule，and style was hollow，and style canal was obvious and with secretory cells on its inner epidermis，which was helpful to rapid germination of pollen and enlongation of pollen tube.

The floristic characteristics of Archichlamydeae were studied. The results revealed that more than 24 families，114 genera，310 species and 11 variaties of Archichlamydeae were recorded in Karakorum mountains of China. There were 2 families Leguminosae(66 species)and Brassicaceae(63 species)that were more than 60 species，and 3 families including 20-39 species，4 families including 10-19 species. The propotion of 9 families were 78.95% of total genera and 88.39% of total species in this area. The monotypic genera and oligotypic genera(103 species) accounted for dominant position in the floristic geographical elements of genera. But on the level of species，the little species genera and more species genera(245 species) accounted for dominant position in the floristic geographical elements of species. The analysis on the geographical elements of the 114 genera and 310 species of Archichlamydeae showed that there were 8 normal types and 14 aberrations of plant distribution in the area，most of which were temperate genera，including 67 genera and 194 species， 66.34% and 79.18% of total plant genera species in the area. This indicated the temperate zone property was the basic characteristic of the flora in the area without tropic distribution and the Chinese unique distribution. Meanwhile，most interflows between the flora in this area with that in the Mediterranean，Western Asian and Central Asian，and few ones with Eastern Asian flora had been found，but without tropic distribution and the Chinese unique distribution. Compared with the peripheral regions，the similarity coefficient of the Pamirs of China and Karakorum Mountain of China was the highest，respectively were 82.14% of total families，63.69% of total genera and 33.86% of total species. The similarity coefficient of the East Afghanistan，Himalayan and the QinghaiTibeta to Karakorum Mountain of China respectively were 17.92%，15.36% and 16.26% of total genera. But on the level of species the similarity coefficient was lower，and respectively were 1.76% to 5.69% of total species.

Mucuna birdwoodiana in the genus mucuna，is large woody vine. In this paper，the geographic distribution maps of M.birdwoodiana were drawn，and its distribution regularities and habitat characteristics were also analyzed by virtue of DivaGis software on altitude layer and vegetation layer. The natural potential distribution regions of M.birdwoodiana in China were estimated based on the Maxent model as prediction model，temperature and precipitation as environment variables. The results showed that Mucuna birdwoodiana was distributed from low to medium altitude of south China below 27.5°N，such as mountain slope，wayside，cleugh，stream and underbrush. M.birdwoodiana，preferring to warmth humid climate，was enriched in Guangdong Province. The geographical distribution of M.birdwoodiana was closely related to vegetation type and altitude. The vegetation types of distribution region were mainly subtropical evergreen broadleaved forest and tropical seasonal rain forest. The distribution region and the distribution density tend to decrease with the reducing vegetation distribution density and the increasing altitude. Potential distribution estimation indicated that M.birdwoodiana may distribute in Guangdong，Guangxi，Fujian，Hongkong，Macao，Yunnan，Hainan，Jiangxi，Sichuan，Guizhou，Xinjiang，Zhejiang and their junctions. It suggested that the preserve and utilization of germplasm resource should be considered to the potential distribution region.

http://gxzw.ijournals.cn/gxzwen/ch/reader/view_abstract.aspx?file_no=20120109&flag=1

Most animal pollinated plants for the success of reproduction have evolved a variety of floral morphological characters to attract pollinators，such as providing nectar，pollen，brood sites for the pollinators. However，nonrewarding flowers by deceptive pollination are found in 146 genera from 33 angiosperm families. These deceptive pollination patterns mainly appear in highly evolved orchid family which is renowned for its enormous diversity of pollination mechanisms. Recently，many kinds of pollination mechanisms and breeding systems were found in Zingiberaceae，such as delayed selfing mechanism，flexistyly and selfpollination by sliding pollen. Here a fooddeceptive pollination mechanism in Kaempferia rotunda which was a new addition to the pollination systems in Zingiberaceae was reported. The pollination biology of K.rotunda was investigated in Nonghua，Guangxi Province in 2006 and South China Normal University Botanical Garden in 2007. The brilliant purple flowers open in the morning at about 5：30-6：00 and wither at 17：00-18：00，lasting for about 11～12 h. During anthesis，both pollen viability and stigma receptivity remained at a high level(＞90%). The mean P/O ratio was 82.20±47.89(n=20). Our observations showed that carpenter bee(Xylocopa sp.)was the main pollinator，and visits flowers only for nectar. However，the flowers produce no nectar. We speculated that K.rotunda exploited food deceptive mechanism to attract pollinators. Breeding system experiments showed that there was rare fruit set in Nonghua population of K. rotunda，which indicated K.rotunda might abandon sexual reproduction for some form of clonal reproduction.

Anatomical structure and characteristics of transverse section of one year twigs of seven host plant species of Ericerus pela（Chavannes）were studied by paraffin method. Barks of seven species consisted of periderm，cortex，fibre bundies of primary phloem and secondary phloem from the inner to outer. The secondary phloem consisted of sieve elements，companion cells and phloem parenchyma cells within transverse system and phloem rays within axial system. Among seven host species，Fraxinus americana and Chionanthus retusa had the thickest phellems which were composed of 10-12 cell layers，followed by Ligustrum calleryanum，L.delavayanum and Fraxinus malacophylla，of which consisted of 5-8 cell layers，while F.chinensis and Ligustrum lucidum had the thinnest phellems，which were composed of 2-3 or 3-4 cell layers，respectively. There were two types of fiber bundies of primary phloem，ribbonlike in Ligustrum or scattered in Fraxinus and Chionanthus. Thickness of ribbonlike fibers were different between three Fraxinus species:59.15±7 μm for F.malacophylla，followed by 50.05±7 μm for F.americana，and 26.93±13 μm for F.chinensis. The diameter of scattered fibers of Fraxinus and Chionanthus were also different，ranging from the widest of 76.15±36 μm for C.retusa to the narrowest of 25.12±13 μm for L.lucidum. The spacing of fiber bundied of L.lucidum，L.delavayanum and C.retusa were 78.53±39 μm，149.78±27 μm and 212.02±95 μm，respectively. Thickness of secondary phloem layers differed wildly among species，ranging from the thickest of 377.44±24 μm for L.lucidum to the thickest of 48.52±12 μm for L.calleryanum. In summary，host plants with barks featured by thick secondary phloem，thin phellems，and small diameter fibers are likely to have higher suitability for the wax insect，E.pela.
