(1)Clematis sect. Viticella is revised in this paper. Thirteen species, one subspecies, and two varieties, inclucling two new species, Clematis inciso-denticulata W. T. Wang and C. xiangguiensis W. T. Wang, and one new rank, C. cadmia Buch.-Ham. ex Hook. f. & Thoms. var. leptomera(Hance)W. T. Wang, are recognized. They are keyed, described, and illustrated, and classified into three subsections and four series. Brief taxonomic history and geographical distribution of the section are given.(2)The relationships among the infrasectional groups are briefly discussed. Subsect. Hancocokianae with 4-sepalled flowers, undilated spreading sepals, and glabrous stamens is considered the extant primitive group of sect. Viticella. Subsect. Floridae, characterized by having 5-8-sepalled flowers, spreading and strongly dilated sepals, glabrous stamens, and pantoporate pollen, and subsect. Viticellae, characterized by having 4-sepalled flowers, usually ascending more or less dilated sepals, usually ciliate stamen filaments, and tricolpate pollen, might all be derived from subsect. Hancockianae.(3)East China, where are concentrated eight species, one subspecies, and one variety, belonging to three subsections and three series, is the distribution centre of the section, and is surmized to be the centre of origin of it, too.

http://gxzw.ijournals.cn/gxzwen/ch/reader/view_abstract.aspx?file_no=20160023&flag=1

(Ⅰ)The morphology of the bracts and bracteoles in the genus Elatostema is studied.(Ⅱ)The bracts of the staminate cyme in the primitive group of that genus, sect. Pellionioides, being 15-90 in number per cyme, papery in texture, green in colour, narrowly ovate or triangular,or linear in outline,0.5-4 mm in length, flat, without any projection, are very similar to those of staminate cymes in the two genera of trib. Elatostemeae,Pilea and Pellionia, and their morphological features just mentioned above may be considered the primitive characters of the bracts in the genus Elatostema. On the basis of them the following evolutionary trends in involucral bracts are observed:(1)more of less equal in size and similar in shape, uniseriately verticillate on receptacle margin→arranged in two series, with two outer bracts opposite and larger, and the inner bracts smaller and more or less different in shape from the outer two;(2)narrowly ovate or triangular,or linear→broadly ovate or triangular,or depressed-semiorbicular→owing to reduction in size resulted from further strong decrease of length and increase of width disappearring at last;(3)flat→cucullate at apex→navicular→navicular, with a terminal cylindrical projection;(4)lacking any projection↗abaxially carinate,or longitudinally 1-6-costate or winged
↘shortly to longly cornicullate at apex→corniculate abaxially below apex;(5)free→connate at base→owing to strong decrease of length and strong increase of width, the involucral bracts are connate into a transversely linear lamella around the receptacle margin;(6)increasing to fifty to one hundred and eighty from seven to forty-five in number per inflorescence on the one hand, and decreasing to less than five on the other. And the evolutionary trends in bracteoles may be showed as follows:(1)membranous,semihyaline,whitish↗brown-lineolate or brown→black
↘thinly membranous,hyaline,colourless;(2)flat→cucullate at apex→navicular;(3)lacking any projection→corniculate at apex or abaxially below apex;(4)increasing to one or several hundred or even to one or several thousand from seven to forty-five in number per inflorescence on the one hand, and decreasing to less than five even to zero on the other. The evolutionary trends mentioned above may be helpful for understanding the evolutionary levels of various infrageneric taxa of Elatostema.

(1)According to the various morphological differences between the two genera, Pellionia and Elatostema, enumerated in the present paper, the genus Pellionis is considered more primitive and to be derived from the genus Pilea before the genus Elatostema.(2)The genus Pellionia is subdivided into five sections. The genus Elatostemoides described by C. B. Robinson is relegated to sectional rank and treated as a section under Pellionia near its primitive group, sect. Pileoides. Besides,a new section related to sect. Elatostemoides, sect. Leiolaena,is described. On the basis of the evolutionary trends of the leaves, leaf nervation, pistillate inflorescences, pistillate tepals and achenes a putative phylogenetic tree showing the relationships among the infrageneric groups of the genus Pellionia is provided.(3)The infrageneric taxa of Pellionia in China are revised. Thirty-two species, one subspecies and seven varieties are recognized. They are keyed, described and in most cases illutrated, and are classified into four sections, two subsections, and nine series. Of them, except for sect. Leiolaena just mentioned above, two subsections, five series, two species and three varieties are described as new. The specific statuses of Pellionia tsoongii,P. crispulihirtella,P. subundulata,P. minima and P. funingensis, which were reduced into synonymy in 2003,are reinstated here. Besides, the brief taxonomic history and geographical distribution of the genus Pillionia in China are given.

A new species of the genus Vitis L.,V. wenxianensis W. T. Wang,is described from southern Gansu Province, west China. In having 3-sect leaves,it is closely related to V. bryoniifolia Bunge var. ternata(W. T. Wang)C.L.Li,an endemic of Zhejinag Province,East China, differing in its smaller leaves with all segments not divided, minutely denticulate at margin, and densely whitish-velutinous abaxially. In the latter, the leaves are larger,up to 6 cm long and 6.2 cm broad, and the segments are all conspicuously dentate at margin,brown-pubescent abaxially, and the lateral segments unequally 2-lobed. According to the author's speculation that these two related taxa might be a pair of sister groups derived from the same species,V. bryoniifolia,in this paper, the latter variety is elevated to specific rank, and for this species a new name must be given owing to the presence of a species name,V. ternata Baker, which was published in 1871 from Brazil.

(1)The Chinese translation of the term“rhizome”is discussed, and the correct translation is ascertained.(2)Two inflorescence types, determinate umbel and determinate capitulum, rarely known in Chinese botanic literature, are introduced. On the basis of the studies of inflorescence conducted by various botanists it is clear that both hypanthodium and catkin evolved from the cymose inflorescences, and should belong to determinate inflorescence, rather than to indeterminate inflorescence. The staminate inflorescence of Elatostema sect. Androsyce(Urticaceae)with urceolate receptacle is also recognized to be a hypanthodium, and may be derived from the determinate capitulum of Elatostema sect. Elatostema. It differs from the hypanthodium of the genus Ficus(Moraceae)in having no basal and oral bracts and in its receptacle divided before the bloom of the staminate flowers.
