                         欧菱 (模式变种)  Fig. 2           has larger fruits ( width vs. height = 0.5 - 1). From
       Trapa natansꎬ with mid ̄sized leavesꎬ flowers and  protologueꎬ Trapa manchurica had the fruits relatively
   fruitsꎬ  is  widely  distributed  in  the  northern  larger and beaks more conspicuous than those of
   Hemisphere and various in morphology. T. natans has  T. natans. Fruit morphology of Trapa manchurica and
   compressed rounded leavesꎬ incised ̄dentate and    T. amurensis are in variance range of T. natansꎬ and
   thinly dentate at margin in luxuriantly growing statusꎬ  the former two species were consequently reduced to
   flowers whiteꎬ fruits 4 ̄horned and barbellate at apexꎬ  T. natans. Trapa potaninii was distinguished in two
   crowns and beaks conspicuousꎬ fresh exocarps green.  lower horns obtuseꎬ not acute and barbellateꎬ which
